Organisers of the Group Leisure & Travel Trade Show (GLTT) report that despite a challenging market it is strengthening its position as the leading British exhibition for the groups, coach tourism and travel trade market, with more companies booking stands every day to exhibit at the forthcoming September show. Examples of new recent bookings include Ullswater Steamers, Coach Link, Potters Leisure Resort, Group Line and Beaulieu Enterprises to name just a few.
Exhibition sales manager Sharon Yandell commented: “We are delighted with the support shown by the industry for the show which continues to attract an exciting mix of old and new exhibitors. We work very hard on the marketing and organisation of the event and from the bookings received for the 2010 show so far, it’s rewarding to hear that exhibitors know this and put their faith in us as reputable organisers. They rely on us to deliver a professional event which is bang on target, and that’s exactly what we do.”
The GLTT, which is in its 14th year and already 60% sold, is now the only exhibition of its type at the NEC. Bekonscot Model Village & Railway is typical of a successful past exhibitor. The business has exhibited at the show over the past 3 years and is exhibiting again this year. Brian Newman-Smith, the managing director said: “Bekonscot Model Village & Railway has attended the Group Leisure & Travel Trade Show at the NEC for the last few years. It is an excellent show and we have found it to be an extremely easy and useful way of making contact with a variety of people, to our mutual benefit.”
Another regular exhibitor Martyn Snell of West Somerset Railway commented in similar fashion: “The organisers do a tremendous job. They prepare for it all the year round and that shows.” Whilst Kelly Hodges of Ascot Racecourse said: “It’s a fantastic show. It’s actually the best show that we do throughout the whole year and we get fantastic leads.”
Organiser of the show Emma Cash added: The GLTT takes place on 22nd & 23rd September and more than ever, in a competitive market, it is the perfect networking platform for companies who are serious about the groups business. The show attracts buyers with high spending power looking for new services, products and destinations at a key planning time.”
Sharon Yandell concludes: “To put it concisely, those companies who are not at the GLTT can bet that their competitors will be. We know from speaking to GTO’s and coach operators how important it is for them to be able to meet up with exhibitors face to face and discuss and plan future trips and ideas all under one roof. So, without question, the NEC really is the place to be at this autumn.”
