Strong Forward Bookings for GLTT

GLTT logoThe organisers of the annual Group Leisure & Travel Trade Show (GLTT) have reported strong forward bookings from exhibitors for the 2010 exhibition, which takes place on September 22nd & 23rd at the NEC.

Sales manager Sharon Yandell said: “We have already seen a 12 per cent increase in renewal bookings compared to the same period last year and we are already 25 per cent booked, which is very positive for both the show and the industry. As the only groups and travel trade event at NEC in 2010, something that has not been the position in the past, exhibitors know that the established exhibition for the sector, at arguably Britain’s most important and prestigious exhibition venue, is a must if they want to maintain and develop business with GTO’s, coach operators and the wider travel trade”.

Despite visitor numbers being slightly down by around 5 per cent at 2,277 visitors, many exhibitors reported excellent business with one exhibitor booking £250,000 worth of business over the recent two day show in September this year.

Emma Cash the show organiser commented: “ There is little doubt that the failed Travel Trade Britain show at NEC in March diluted the market somewhat this year and coupled with the recession, it was a big ask to expect visitor numbers to be the same as 2008, which itself was 36 per cent up on the previous year. A 5 per cent down turn was actually much better than we might have expected. However as the market strengthens and we now can offer the only annual event of its kind at NEC, there is a total focus on the show to deliver next autumn and it seems exhibitors are responding positively.
